THE CANNES FEVER : AISHWARYA RAI

Hey everyone,

So like everyone I too have been following my fair share of the CANNES fever, this year and I must say our Indian beauties didnt disappoint us at all this year. This post is dedicated solely to the mesmerizing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She is a beauty we all know that but when it comes to acting she is not my favorite actress in B town, but post her delivery all the hoopla around her and the way she has managed to be so dignified and unfathomable about all the nonsense around her weight she did get an admirer in me. So this first post in the CANNES series is dedicated to her.

Cannes film festival is in its 66th year and Aishwarya has been a part of this prestigious film festival for 12 years now.
Let me start by the latest picutre.
Omg!!! She is just looking breathtakingly beautiful when she came to attend the screening of CLEOPATRA. Its GUCCI all the way in this one shoulder teal blue satin gown with an updo and a bright fuchsia lipstick, its freash and summery and also a relief from the favored black color. She is looking spectacular.

On her first day for the screening of the flim " INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS" she chose to wear an ELIE SAAB gown, and needless to say she looks beautiful, the gown look splendid on her figure.

Foe her makeup she went for soft smoked out eyes and nude lips, the emphasis was definitely on her eyes. This entire look gets a thumps up .

Next for the screening of the film "BLOOD TIES" she chose to wear ABU-SANDEEP creation a heavily embroidered anarkali. I stand divided on this outfit because while it does little to emphasize her fiigure I like her overall look, still I think se could have done better.

Now for the not so part. This is what Aishwarya chose to wear for the evening gala for the film "BOMBAY TALKIES" celebrating 100 years of hindi cinema.

I mean what is this? And why this? ughhhhh...not a fan of this look at all....I love Sabyasachi's work but this saree I dont think it makes her look younger forget younger she looks older than her age. Not a fan.

HOW TO APPLY MASCARA PERFECTLY

HELLO FRIENDS,
I know I have been completely off the radar on my blog, but I am back now promise to be more regular. So without further ado....

Today's blog is going to be a guide on HOW TO MAKE THOSE LASHES STAND OUT.

Mascara is a really important makeup product that really brings the whole look together. Now I know false eyelashes makes everything much more pulled together and pretty but common we dont use false eyelashes on a regular basis but mascara we can and do. But we all can goof up sometimes, so here is hoping this post helps you eliminate any mistakes you are making while choosing applying or removing mascara.
So lets gets started:

1.CHOOSE THE CORRECT TYPE OF PRODUCT: Now there are a host of mascaras available in the market you need to know what kind you want. The one for volume or one for length or both. There are different types of MASCARAS with different formulations you can always mix two mascaras for the desired effect. You can always try colored ones. I tired a blue one it sure looks nice for a change.
Do your research ask your friends whats working for them what is not.

2.CURL YOU LASHES:This is a must. Please girls....dont ignore it. CURLING YOUR LASHES is having half the battle won already. If you are new to it watch videos read blogs and get practicing  girl! its not rocket science after all.( Though my husband is kinda scared of the eyelash curler, he calls it a torture tool for eyes). Its not a big deal just prctice, I cant emphasize enough how much it changes the look after curling your lashes they are facing up towards your brow rather than your cheeks. Please do not ignore this step.

3.APPLICATION: Now once your lashes are prepped you can begin the application. One tip i can give that always works for me while using a volumizing mascara is to always wipe or scoop the extra product of the wand and then apply the mascara. Another thing to keep in mind is the volume should be more at the base of the lashes not the tips so while applying mascara put the wand at the base of the lashes and gently wiggle it outwards to the tips.

4.KNOW WHEN TO STOP: SPIDERY LASHES are not in trend. So after each layer check in the mirror to know when to stop adding more layers, also beware how much product your lashes can actually hold, dont overdo it.

5 REMOVING THE MASCARA: Removing mascara properly is as important as applying it. whatever method you choose for makeup removal be it wipes or cleanser or olive oil make sure to put it on a cotton pad or ball and keep it on the lashes for a couple of seconds before swiping it. Make sure to remove all the product of the lashes.
Waterproof mascaras are hard to take off, so know when you want to use a waterproof one and when you are ok without waterproof one. Its your choice but remove the mascara properly.
EXTRA TIPS :
 While applying mascara if you accidently smudge it on your eye lids then dont rush up to remove it immediately let it dry and then you can flake it off easily.
For special occasions when you dont mind doing that extra step to make your lashes really stand out you can use a eye lash primer. Coat your favorite mascara over it and voila you have exxxttrraaa fabulous lashes without the false lashes.

SHIMMERY GOLDEN EYES

Hey friends,
As promised I am trying my best to be regular at my posts, I always like to take my time before doing a post .I dont want to rush just to make a post. So I hope you all are liking my posts and without further ado lets get started with todays look.
The eye makeup done on this post is perfect for parties and weddings as it involves a very traditional Indian color suitable for such occasions, meanwhile GOLD is such an eye catching color it just sits perfectly for most night time events.
Okay so here is the breakdown:

 1. Apply NYX JUMBO PENCIL in GOLD all over the lids and then blend the color with your finger.
  2. Next apply a shimmering gold color all over the lids and also on the inner corner of the waterline.

3. Taking a small blending brush add a deep brown shade on the brush and apply a thin line all over the crease area.

4.Take another clean blending brush and pack a medium brown or medium copper shade and apply it above the crease area and with light hands blend the two colors.

5. On the lower waterline add the vibrant emerald green color on the centre of the lids blending it in with the gold on the inner corner.
6. Apply black eyeshadow on the outer corner of the eyes and blend it with the green eye shadow.

7. Apply black liquid eyeliner and wing it out for a more dramatic look. And add lots of mascara .
8. Clean up any fall outs under the eyes and complete the face makeup and you are done!

SPARKLING PURPLE EYES USING URBAN DECAY AMMO PALETTE

Hey everyone..
I wanted to share this really beautiful eyeshadow palette with all of you that I have been using for quiet some time now, its the URBAN DECAY AMMO PALETTE. All the shades in this palette are selected so well that its a complete palette for so many looks. As with all others or mostly so even this palette is shimmery and few shades have fine glitters on them, its not a day time appropriate palette but is perfect for night time parties weddings dates and what not.

I have created a shimmery sparkling purple eyes for this post using four shades from this palette
1. LAST CALL FOR ALL OVER THE LIDS
2.GRIFTER FOR THE INNER CORNERS
3.CHOPPER FOR HIGHLIGHT UNDER BROW BONE
4.OIL SLICK FOR OUTER "V"

This is the final look I came up with after filling my brows and adding black eyeliner to both top and bottom waterline and loads of mascara.

NYX MEGA SHINE LIP GLOSS IN : BEIGE

I am back with another review. This time its for a NYX product. We all love NYX. The product I am reviewing today is their very popular mega shine lip gloss and I shall be reviewing it in the color BEIGE. Okay so here is the confusing part I for the life of me can not understand why is this lip gloss named BEIGE, because its totally 100% not beige...its a warm medium pink.

So lets see what NYX has to say about its MEGA SHINE LIP GLOSS:

Kiss me quick! Our signature Mega Shine Lip Gloss delivers shine, moisture and softness and envelops lips with glistening color. The finish is both creamy and steamy and ensures knockout glamour. A blend of mineral and lanolin oils helps protect the pout. Available in 50 almost sinful lip gloss shades.

We hear you, 50 shades.....that is most certainly sinful on their part. How much are we supposed to buy and ultimately hoard?

Okay lets get started.

PACKAGING: These lip glosses are packaged in a clear tube with a black cap/lid. It comes with a doe foot applicator which is nice, I am not a big fan of brush tip applicators. The clear tube helps in identifying the shade among your makeup pile( just kidding), but yes indeed it helps being in a transparent shade.

APPLICATION: This shade is very pigmented one swipe and you are good to go. That said I like to apply it over a nude lipstick or sometimes just even on the center of the lips to add a little more pout to the lips.

COLOR AND TEXTURE: This shade is nice warm medium pink.It glides on very smoothly and it doesnt feel very heavy on the lips .These lip glosses are not sticky .  Its a fairly long lasting lip gloss, you will have to reapply it after 4- 5 hours or so. They have the perfect amount of shine and the colors...you can actually see them on your lips they are opaque. They are moisturizing on the lips.

PRICE: They go for around $5 in the USA, and I hate to say this but they are way pricier in INDIA. They are priced at around INR 475-500. I mean come on....You cant help it. It is what it is.

OVERALL VERDICT: I would definitely repurchase this particular shade  Its not sticky and heavy feeling which is a major plus for me. Pricing wise of course its better to buy it from USA .. You should check it out, its worth the money spent. This is already my second tube of this particular shade. The color selection on the entire range is AWESOME.  The texture is really smooth and applies smoothly on the lips. And best of all the color is actually opaque and you get what you see which is a major plus for a lip gloss.  ALL IN ALL GIVE IT A TRY YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.

L'OREAL PARIS GLAM SHINE 6HR LIP GLOSS IN FIERY 305

Okay so I am on a roll, I would sincerely like to blog often .I am going to be posting more reviews on lip glosses.. its summer time girls! Okay I like to apply lip glosses through out the year but especially during the summers and also because this last winter I kind of have been hooked on to my matte

lipsticks so I am making a deliberate effort on my part to use more of my lip glosses and what better time than summers to pucker up those lips and slap on some lip gloss.
ENOUGH ALREADY! I should better start the review.

L'oreal Glam shine lip glosses have been around long and what made me write this blog is the fact that I have repurchased it and intend  to do so in the future. These are a little sticky not too much nothing that would trouble me and it is so because of the long wear formula. It comes in a clear tube with a doe foot applicator, now I quiet like the shape of its applicator ,it makes it easier to follow the shape of your lips using this. It doesnt last up to 6 hours, but we all know no lip gloss does.

They are priced at INR 799/- ,little pricier compared to the NYX lip glosses .

This particular shade is a perfect companion to a party or a wedding. Its shimmery so I use it for night time events. It has gold shimmers mixed with the brown so under lights it reflects gold which is very pretty .These arent the best their are but I like them, they are better than a lot of others and I quiet enjoy this particular shade. Its a sheer gloss so I make it a point to always apply it underneath a lipstick and I used it over red, brown, nude all sorts of lipsticks, its a great lip gloss. What I like most is its very versatile.

SOFT SMOKEY EYE WITH A POP OF COLOR : NYX PALETTE IN MYSTERIOUS BROWN EYES

Hello everyone
This post is going to be on my take of soft smokey eye for day time and all the more fun during the spring/summer time as it involves a bright pop of color. I used a teal blue color as my pop up color.
Below is a step wise tutorial on how to achieve this look. The NYX palette was just jumping at me do this look. The pictures didnt come out great though sorry! I will try to do a better job next time I promise.

1. apply this shade on the entire lid area hitting just below the crease.

2. apply this on the crease area and blend so there are no harsh lines.

3. Add a little bit of black eyeshadow on the outer v and blend it well. This palette doesnt have a black eyeshadow I just use it from another palette.

4. Add the highlight under your brow.

5. Now the fun part. Take a teal blue eye pencil and line your lower lash line.

I went over the liner with a teal shade in this palette to set the eyeshadow and also added black eyeliner in the water line to give i some depth, but its an optional step you can ignore it if you want to.

6. I added a black liner with an eye shadow to make it look softer and not so strong, you may use your regular eyeliner.
